Scheduling

Space is limited, and entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chrome Dance Competitions reserves the right to cancel, add, or change competition days, and to reschedule or relocate events due to unforeseen circumstances. If an event is canceled, studios will receive a full credit to another Chrome Dance Competitions event.

Tentative and final schedules will be sent to all studios before the competition date. While we make every effort to ensure the program is accurate, Chrome Dance Competitions is not responsible for any misprints, errors, or omissions. Changes submitted after the final schedule is sent will not be reflected in the program.

Prop Rules

Prop usage is restricted to maintain the high efficiency of the schedule.

Registration: All props must be declared and detailed during online registration.

Permitted Props (Hand-Held Only):

  • Only simple, hand-held items (e.g., hats, scarves, canes, small chairs, small stools) that a single dancer can carry onto the stage, use, and carry off immediately are allowed.

  • Props must be ready to place in 10 seconds or less and removed in 10 seconds or less by the dancers themselves.

  • No Production or Song & Dance (headset usage) entries accepted

  • Restricted and Forbidden Items (STRICTLY ENFORCED):

  • NO Large Structures: Rolling backdrops, tables, complex stair units, or anything requiring more than one dancer to place.

  • NO Set-Up Time: If a prop requires more than 10 seconds of on-stage time, it is NOT permitted.

  • NO Messy/Hazardous Items: Loose glitter, liquid paint, real food, feathers, sand, water, confetti, or any item that requires cleanup that would delay the next routine.

  • Overhead Prop Passes: Designated Studio crew members only permitted in the wings to hand off props.  Must be identified to the onsite Backstage Manager upon check-in.

  • Crucial Reminder Regarding Inflatable Props

    • Please be advised that all inflatable props brought into the competition venue must be fully secured with appropriate weighting or anchoring mechanisms before use on stage. This is a non-negotiable safety and logistical requirement.

    • In the event that an inflatable item escapes and becomes lodged in the venue's rafters, lighting grid, or any other inaccessible area, the hosting studio (and subsequently the parents/group responsible for the prop) will be held fully liable.

    • The venue will charge a specialized fee for the professional removal and retrieval of the item, and our studio will pass all incurred costs directly to the party responsible. Please ensure your props are 100% secured to avoid substantial, unexpected fees.

Age Appropriateness

Chrome Dance Competitions Heat events are family-friendly events, and we take great care to ensure our environment is appropriate for everyone. We kindly ask that you make thoughtful choices regarding your music lyrics, choreography, and costuming.

If any aspect of a routine is deemed too suggestive or otherwise inappropriate for our audience, it will be subject to score deductions or disqualification. Our Judges have our full support in making these decisions to ensure a positive experience for all attendees.

Code of Conduct

At Chrome Dance Competitions, we expect everyone attending our events to behave in a respectful and responsible manner.

To ensure the best experience for our performers, please help us minimize distractions. This includes keeping talking to a minimum, silencing mobile devices, and entering or exiting the theater only between performances.

We aim to create a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment. Please show your support for all dancers by applauding and cheering for every routine. Distasteful cheering or unruly behavior will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification or removal from the premises.

For an enjoyable viewing experience, please do not sit in the aisles or in seats reserved for teachers or those with accessibility needs. Additionally, noise-making devices like air horns are prohibited.

We ask that studios help us keep the backstage area clear. Only Studio Directors and teachers are permitted backstage at all times. Dancers can wait backstage for up to three numbers before their performance but must keep the wings clear. Parents are not permitted backstage unless they are registered as an independent studio. Please respect the privacy of all dancers by not entering a dressing room designated for the opposite gender. Any misuse of these areas may lead to removal from the premises.

All participants are responsible for cleaning their space and properly disposing of trash. Studios will be held responsible for any damage to the venue.

Finally, under no circumstances should a Studio Director, teacher, parent, or dancer approach the judges.

Studio Affiliation: Each competitor may register as an Independent while indicating a Studio Affiliation.

Be Ready: Routines must be ready to perform a minimum of 30 minutes before their scheduled time and are required to check in backstage no less than 5 entries prior.
